weekly summary, vol. 14

PAIL Posts This Week

  • SRB took us away on a brief Labor (or Labour) Day getaway to her parents’ gorgeous home for this week’s Memorable Moment Monday. I will confess to taking a few moments to be envious– I have a “thing” for front porches with hanging flowers, maybe because I can never seem to keep plants alive at my own house.

As you may already know, we are rolling out a newly revamped Monday event that we have dubbed The Monday Snapshot! If you’ve been a fan of Memorable Moment Mondays, never fear– The Monday Snapshot will feature the same photos and stories you have been posting all along, and you will still post links to your blogs in the comments here so other blog roll members can click over and visit. In addition, The Monday Snapshot will focus on the concept of getting a “snapshot” of different bloggers– both a physical photo and a “snapshot” of the blogger themselves– guest-hosting The Monday Snapshot here at PAIL every week. You’ll tell us a little something about yourself and who you are in addition to sharing a snippet of your day. That way, more people from across the blog roll and beyond will get to know you. Sounds like a great way to connect with the community, right? We think so! To participate in The Monday Snapshot as a guest host, please fill out the form here and we’ll add you to the list! (We will notify you when your turn is coming up so you have time to prepare a post.)

  • Chandra opened up a can of Spaghetti-Os with a touchy subject in her news item, “Letting Myself Go.” Despite the sensitive nature of the subject, we had an amazing discussion in the comments– we truly have an awesome, thoughtful and supportive group here! The conversation is still going on, so if you’d like to join in (or you just want to read along), click over Chandra’s news item post. You can also read Coco‘s post “Beauty” and Chon‘s post “Two Thoughts, One Post” on their blogs further exploring this topic.

Featured Posts:

  • Josey found a gem in K of Our Growing Gardunn’s post “The Plan… Version 6.0.” What amazing strength of character it takes to have hope in the face of so much loss. I have a lot of respect for K‘s resolve to embrace TTC and an attempt at a sixth pregnancy with full acceptance of the lack of control she has over the process. If you missed it– or if you didn’t; it’s worth a second read– click on over.

Ongoing Projects:

  • Community Corkboard: If you have a question, need support, or want to give a shout-out to someone who you think is particularly awesome, email us to have your message added to next week’s summary!
  • More details on this feature coming soon!
