the monday snapshot – julia

This week, Julia is going to open up the week for us with her The Monday Snapshot post. She “cheated” and sent us two photos, but her son is so cute we couldn’t resist using both of them, so we gave her a pass 😉 Take it away, Julia!

Hi, and welcome, everyone from the Monday Snapshot at Pail!

This week’s snapshot surrounds a horrifying milestone.

For a while, I thought Ethan would walk before crawling, as he’s more happy being upright rather than on his stomach, but this week he migrated from a pretty fast Army Crawl to full out hands-and-knees. He’s SO fast.

Remember those days where you could put the babies on the floor and walk away to make your lunch… and they’d still be there?  NO MORE!

Now, get to know a little more about Julia with her answers to the Monday Snapshot “5 Questions”:

1) How long have you been blogging and how did you get started?

I’ve been blogging for about 10 years.  I started off with Livejournal, and then migrated to blogspot with my first blog “Just Relax.”  Just relax focused on my infertility journey, and then once we knew our little dude was sticking, I created “3 Bed, 2 Bath, 1 Baby,” my current depository of my thoughts.

2) Tell us a little about your ALI journey and your family (3-4 sentences):

We went through 2 years of Clomid/Testing.  In December of 2010 I had exploratory surgery which revealed some endo which was removed.  I got pregnant the cycle after that, which ended as a miscarraige.  The next cycle we got pregnant again… and he stuck!  We now have a lovely 9 month old, Ethan!

3) What makes you unique in the blogging world? (e.g. special talent, rare diagnosis, life experience)?

I rarely sensor myself.  I enjoy being silly, snarky, making fun of myself and life in general.  I also don’t tend to blog unless I feel I have something worth reading.  This can make my posting sporatic, but worth the wait (I hope 🙂

4) One word to describe yourself:

5) What blog or website (IF or not) would you recommend to others? Why?

I would recommend The Bloggess.  She is hilarious, and my soul sister.  She has a great way to turning a normal experience into something totally hilarious.  She has a wonderful background which she talks about openly, including her battles with anxiety and depression, which has been so helpful to read as a fellow introvert/borderline anxiety ridden mom.

As always, we want to see your Monday Snapshot as well, so please comment below with a link to your post– and of course, go visit Julia at 3 Bed, 2 Bath, 1 Baby!

  1. Ethan is such an adorable boy! Look at those baby blues! Crawling is a bittersweet milestone. It makes things so much FUN but it’s also the first step into utter chaos!

For my Monday snapshot we’re taking a trip back in time, i.e. On this day in 2010 and again in 2011… It’s only fitting that my post involves time travel since I always get a jump on the PAIL posts with my time zone advantage! 😉

  2. He is so cute! I love him in that hat. Wow, blogging for 10 years – that’s awesome!

Here is my submission for this week, my family at a local apple orchard:

  3. Oh Lordy – Ethan’s EYES, Julia. What a stunner! Good luck with the crawling – it’s a game changer for sure. 🙂 My pingback should be below, but here’s my Snapshot for today!

  4. No kidding, the blue eyes with the orange romper and then a monkey hat ta-boot? Precious. And mobility definitely changes things, no doubt. 😉 Here’s mine!

  5. I’m a sucker for blue eyed babes now 😉 Gorgeous pics!!

    Here’s mine:

  6. Hooray for crawling! It’s on now! 🙂 He is such a cutie!

    Here is my Monday snapshot:

  7. Oh my god, that hat! Wildly freakin adorable. Good luck with the crawling. Here’s my snapshot for the day:

  8. Adorable hat! And I would say to cherish even the crawling, but the much more death defying stage of climbing isn’t too far behind.

    Here’s our Monday Snapshot:

*Because… I meant to write “because the much more death defying stage of climbing isn’t too far behind.”

  9. Well, that pic certainly isn’t going to help me resist buying a monkey hat! ADORABLE. OMG!

My trackback is below! Check them out under the comments – lots today!

  10. Oh, the day that we realize we can’t leave our kids unattended. I feel for you!

I am new to following the Blogess (thank you, SRB) and find her to be hysterical! I was missing so much by not reading her!

  11. He is adorable!! Alidia just started crawling too and she is certainly keeping me on my toes! 🙂

Sorry my moment is a day late but here it is nonetheless..
