weekly summary, vol. 30

PAIL Book Club:

  • We are now taking suggestions for the fourth installment of the PAIL Book Club! If you have something in mind, *please* let us know in the comments or shoot us an email with the author, title, and why you think it’s a good pick.
  • Here are a bunch that we have been batting around…if any of these appeal you to, please click the poll to help us make a choice! (You can choose up to 3)
  • Dates for this installment TBA!

Special Projects:

  • If you haven’t yet gotten through the list, click back over to the PAIL Blogger Vlogs. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, and you’ll get to know 20 of the PAIL Bloggers a little better. Thanks to everyone who participated!
  • Josey posted the list of bloggers who wrote entries for December’s Monthly Theme on Balancing Life, Work and Parenthood. Lots of interesting perspectives on this list, from working out-of-the-home moms to stay-at-home moms to “I’ve done both” moms… it’s a complex issue and, as always, our blogroll is chock-full of thoughtful women who have really done justice to this topic. The holidays may have kept you from spending the time on these that you *really* wanted to – I know I still need to go back through half the list!

PAIL Posts This Week:

  • To kick of 2013 with the last Monday Snapshot of 2012, Traathy introduced us to Maggie from iMags and a hilarious photo of her adorable twins, Sophie and Alex. Get to know Maggie better by stopping by her blog, and check out the other entries in the comments!
  • We featured a special guest post from missohkay discussing the tragic Russian ban on international adoptions. She gives us insight into the emotional process and political implications of international adoption, in addition to succinctly describing what this ban means for waiting parents and children alike. A difficult, but important read.
